IGTC launches industry-wide phytosanitary survey

The IGTC has launched a global survey to gather experiences from traders on phytosanitary import requirements. The results of the survey will be used to feed into new IPPC proposals on phytosanitary measures for grain, to be drafted later in 2016. The yet to be developed IPPC measures are expected to affect all major exporting and importing countries and will place special attention on reducing pest risk. The IGTC has prioritized this action to help ensure that the IPPC provides for the most trade-enabling and least trade-distortive environment, so that the trade can continue in its contribution to global food security. The survey can be found on the IGTC Intranet here.
