Our work with the World Trade Organization (WTO) on e-Certs

The WTO-hosted Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) has mentioned the IGTC in its promotional material on the e-Phyto Hub project: the global initiative that aims to make it easier for countries - especially those with limited resources - to start transmitting electronic phytosanitary certificates.

On page 3 of the publication, the role of the IGTC is referenced, given our continued contribution to the successful piloting of the project, along with donor agencies and other industry associations.

The STDF publication also reports data on how e-Certs have helped increase government revenue in Kenya, and highlights that lack of certainty in the issuing and acceptance of SPS certificates is a barrier to inclusive trade, especially in developing countries.

The STDF is a joint initiative of the World Trade Organization (WTO), World Bank, UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
