Governments and international organizations have now confirmed their participation in the IGTC’s WTO seminar on “the grain trade’s contribution to global food security and economic development” on 10 November. The event is open to all WTO Agriculture and SPS Committee members, and will be chaired by Canada and Brazil. The IGTC’s speakers will be GTA, COCERAL, Canada Grains Council and Cargill, following a call for volunteers launched in September. The ultimate aim of the session is to highlight the importance of the grain trade in securing safe, affordable, reliable, fungible, supply; as well as contributing to food security, promoting resource use efficiency, and economic growth.
