The organisation
The International Grain Trade Coalition (IGTC) is a unique and effective voice for the grain trade in global forums. Headquartered in Switzerland, it is a non-profit federation of international grain trade associations.
IGTC has recently undertaken a strategic assessment and developed a refreshed strategy focused on reshaping the organization’s structure and enhancing its capacity to address the evolving challenges of global trade through creating more agile, vibrant, and capable organisation. This has coincided with a leadership transition that provides an opportunity to build on the organisation’s valuable legacy with a renewed commitment by members to the mission and value proposition.
IGTC is a coalition of like-minded organisations committed to:
- Promoting the global trade of grains and oilseeds
- Working collaboratively on issues of common interest
- Advocating for practical, trade facilitating international standards and practices
- Working with governments, agencies and international supply chain partners to support global food security and food safety with trade at the cornerstone of delivering these outcomes
The opportunity
IGTC is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced leader to work with the IGTC leadership, member organisations, government and other stakeholders to ensure the grain trade is fully engaged and connected to effectively promote the role of the grain trade globally, contribute to global challenges such as food security and address issues that have the capacity to disrupt global trade.
The successful candidate will be required to plan, manage and deliver agreed outcomes while working with members and other stakeholders to develop consensus on issues that have the potential to impact trade.
Responsibilities
- Support development and implementation of the IGTC annual strategy
- Provide leadership and management to ensure that IGTC values, goals and plans are implemented
- Provide informed and sound strategic counsel to the IGTC Executive and Management Council
- Represent IGTC with members, stakeholders, the broader global and Government audiences
- Manage communication and media activities
- Provide a contactable office for IGTC on a full-time basis
- Manage the day-to-day financial and administrative needs of the organisation
- Oversight of statutory responsibilities.
- Coordinate and lead required meetings, including General Assembly, Management Council, Executive and Working Group meetings
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Executive Committee, Management Council, members and other stakeholders, governments and other relevant organisations for the benefit of IGTC and its members.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be experienced in industry association management, preferably trade association in grain or a related industry.
The successful candidate will have a business, management or similar degree with a minimum of 5 years in senior business management role(s), preferably in a grain or agricultural related industry(s). Experience in the grain industry or international agricultural trade would be preferred, but not essential.
Your skills set will include effective communication, combined with project and time management skills and financial acumen.
Your competencies will include demonstrated successful outcomes with strategic planning and stakeholder relationship management, the ability to develop a consensus outcome when conflicting and/or competing interests exist underpinned with a growth and continuous improvement mindset.
You will be measured against your timely response and successful delivery to agreed outcomes, your ability to develop strong, effective and trusted relationship with stakeholders, in particular, the Management Council, IGTC members and the media, and effective meeting management.
Location
Flexible. Must be able to manage with global time zones and travel.
Engagement & Remuneration
You may be an independent professional /contractor/consultant or a specialist association management organization.
Remuneration package will be competitive with association industry peers. An appropriate engagement structure will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
