XXIII APPAMEX-NAEGA Forum

The IGTC led a session on current global policies impacting on the grain trade at the annual NAEGA-APPAMEX forum this week. The Forum gathered together the most prominent actors in Mexico’s agricultural supply chain including Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food, Jose Eduardo Calzada.

Key areas of focus for the IGTC’s presentations were:
· the commercial value, opportunity and need of electronic trading documentation; 
· promotion of smart, efficient regulations through the World Bank’s ‘Enabling the Business of Agriculture’ initiative;
· plant breeding and plant production methods;
· phytosanitary risk management: International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) for the movement of grain
