IGTC President outreach visit to Rome and Geneva

IGTC President Gary C. Martin was in Geneva and Rome in July for meetings with government officials, international institutions, and the ePhyto Industry Advisory Group (IAG). In addition, the visit represented a significant opportunity for Mr. Martin to raise awareness of IGTC accomplishments and the implementation of the Business Plan, particularly with Corporate Stakeholders – thank you to all those who made time to see us!

Meetings with representatives participating in the WTO’s Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) committee confirmed that Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) of crop protection products continue to be high on the agenda in Geneva. In particular, an MRL-specific workplan at the SPS committee (publicly available draft here) is now gathering support from a growing number of governments.
