E-Docs seminar at WTO

The IGTC’s Working Group on E-Docs took centre stage at the WTO on Tuesday, with a presentation on e-documentation in the grain trade, and why this represents a promising innovation opportunity for traders. Eight IGTC participants were present at the meeting, a key component of IGTC interventions from the floor was the need for compatibility of systems for a global transition, and recognition of the whole suite of documents used in the trade of grains.

The day-long seminar was held by the Standards and Trade Development Facility of the WTO and brought together experiences from around the world in dealing with ‘e-certs’ including e-Phytos and certificates of origin. The IGTC's report detailing the outcomes of the meeting is here.
