On 4 December the International Agri Food Network (IAFN) Coalition for an Enhanced Codex sent a letter to the Codex Alimentarius Secretariat, highlighting "the vital work of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) and to reduce the backlog and to advance the 430+ proposed MRLs for adoption".

The full letter which can be read here, also points to the importance of improved capacity for setting Codex MRLs based on science, country application of MRLs in global trade, and increased awareness of MRL trade issues amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
